A river or stream in its natural state feels like an intimate space. It is often cloaked in trees and grasses that makes each scene unique. Most captivating to me, aside from the array of colors in and along a river, is the way light dances on the water and plays with the trees, grasses and bushes surrounding it. Portraying this light helps to convey movement on the flat canvas.
